Araya Thongsuk

Bangkok, Thailand · Estate-Organisation Orientation

I came in not really knowing what "estate organisation" even meant. The half-day session changed that entirely. The facilitator explained everything clearly and didn't push any particular action — just gave us the information and the checklist to work through at home. My husband and I are finally sorting through our documents this weekend.

Expatriate, Bangkok · Records & Cataloguing Workshop

As a German expat living in Bangkok, our household has documents in two languages from three countries. The workshop gave us a genuinely practical framework for organising all of it. The inventory templates are the most useful thing I've received from any seminar in years. Took a full evening to complete but absolutely worth it.

Pornpan Srisawat

Silom, Bangkok · Estate-Organisation Orientation

My mother-in-law passed away last year and we spent weeks just searching for the right documents. I attended the orientation so this doesn't happen in our household. It was direct, calm, and exactly what I needed. No scare tactics, no upselling — just information.

Wanchai Chantaraphan

Family Business Director, Bangkok · Continuity Programme

We run a mid-size import business that my father started in 1988. We'd been putting off succession conversations for years. This programme gave us the structure to finally have them — two half-days with a week between that genuinely let the team reflect. Three months on, we've documented our processes and had conversations we should have had earlier.

Sukhumvit, Bangkok · Records & Cataloguing Workshop

The workshop was thorough and well-paced. I found the morning session slightly dense but the afternoon was very hands-on and practical. The templates are genuinely well-designed. I left with a plan and the materials to carry it out — which is more than I can say for a lot of day-long sessions I've sat through.

Lad Phrao, Bangkok · Estate-Organisation Orientation

I attended with my elderly father to help us both understand what we should be keeping and where. The facilitator was patient with his questions and never made us feel like we were behind. The checklist is written clearly enough for him to work through independently, which was important to me.

Participant Journeys

Case Studies

Three examples of how Bangkok families and businesses approached their record organisation, and what they did with the knowledge afterwards.

Case Study 1 · Household Records

The Situation

A Bangkok couple in their 50s had accumulated decades of household documents spread across three filing cabinets, several shoeboxes, and an external hard drive. They could not reliably locate documents when needed and had no sense of what was current or outdated.

The Approach

They attended the Estate-Organisation Orientation together and then returned for the Records & Document Cataloguing Workshop the following month. The workshop's inventory templates gave them a shared system they could both navigate.

What Changed

Eight weeks later, they reported having catalogued over 140 documents, discarded outdated material, and created a shared folder system their adult children could access. No professional advice needed — just a framework and a clear weekend project.

"We kept saying we'd do this 'someday.' The workshop gave us the actual tools and we knocked it out in three weekends." — A.T. & husband, Bangkok

Case Study 2 · Expatriate Household

The Situation

A British-Thai couple with documents in three languages across two countries found that standard advice about estate organisation simply did not account for their situation. Guidance written for UK or Thai households alone did not address mixed documentation.

The Approach

They attended the Records & Document Cataloguing Workshop and specifically discussed bilingual document management with the facilitator during the Q&A section. The facilitator addressed the general principles while being clear about the limits of the session's scope.

What Changed

Using the session's framework, they created a bilingual index of their documents organised by category and country of issue. They subsequently consulted a solicitor with a much clearer picture of what they had and what questions to ask — a process the solicitor described as "unusually well-prepared."

"The templates actually worked for our situation with a few small adaptations. That surprised me — I expected something too generic to be useful." — M.K., Bangkok

Case Study 3 · Family Business

The Situation

A second-generation Bangkok trading company with 18 staff had never formally documented which team members held which process knowledge. The founding director wanted to step back gradually but recognised that a significant amount of institutional knowledge existed only in his head.

The Approach

Four directors and managers attended the Family-Business Continuity Information Programme. The two-session format — with a week in between — allowed the team to reflect on the first session and arrive at the second with more focused questions about their specific processes.

What Changed

Using the facilitation guide, they ran four internal sessions over the following quarter to document processes across departments. Within six months, two senior roles had been formally transitioned without operational disruption. No lawyers needed for the process documentation itself.

"We'd been meaning to do this for five years. Having a structured framework made it an actual project rather than an ongoing conversation that never reached a conclusion." — W.C., Bangkok
